This presentation (Powerpoint) covers a HUGE range of learning areas that are available in the novel The Witches by Roald Dahl. Starting with the history of witches and going through the book itself, author, publisher. We then delve into the characters that are in this story (of which there are plenty). Then we explore Settings, what they are and the different settings that are portrayed throughout the story. In every story, there are conventions that the author uses and this is no different in The Witches, There is Exposition, Rising action, climax and then Resolution. Each of these areas is explored in detail. Plot and Theme are also touched on. This presentation was used over the course of a term as students read through the novel, it was accompanied by worksheets that were generic but could change with the different content in the presentation. i.e. when looking at settings the questions were similar but a different setting was explored each lesson. You could take the bits you need or use it as a whole presentation. A fabulous resource when teaching this novel. P.s - There are some pictures with eyes and a man looking over his shoulder in the upper left of some slides. These are there to remind students to look back through the book at something they have already discussed, or look into something with more detail.

This packet of information is designed to be used with the film ‘Remember The Titans’. Some of the sheets do tie into a unit on Conflict and Conflict resolution that the film was used for. This film highlights many issues faced in Virginia that students can identify as conflict. The worksheets as part of this pack are all related to the movie and include: A Venn diagram, a cut and paste match up of characters, a PowerPoint with links on youtube and a question and answer written worksheet about conflict. Comprehension questions on one of the monologues from the film and plenty of visuals. One of the sheets is suitable for a lower ability student (disability). This is good for differentiation.

Eragon by Christopher Paolini is a fantastic fantasy book that appeals to young readers. Part of a trilogy this first book takes the readers on a journey to a mythical land of dragons, magic, love and adventure. This pack contains a large powerpoint that goes through every main character and setting in the book, it looks at the makeup of the story including the plot, theme and writing conventions. Approximately 100+ slides. It is a detailed resource that can be split up and used daily over the school term as students are working through the novel. Also attached are a couple of worksheet activities that I did with my class. These are a book covers task, character sheet and settings sheet.

If you love using Pixar films in your lessons as much as I do, then you will appreciate having this workbook at your fingertips for students to use. It is designed with maximum pictures and short sharp activities and questions to keep students of different abilities engaged. There are some deeper principles in this film that you can explore further after using this booklet. Additionally, if you are introducing Chess to your class then this is a fun way to show them some of the pieces, rules, and fun that can be had. This is a short unit that is linked to the film ‘The Butterfly Circus’ it is an amazing short film about the human spirit and the ability to overcome adversity. It has been the basis of several different assignments and discussions for classes that I have taught. This is aimed at an upper primary/lower secondary mainstream class level.

This is a workbook of literacy activities that are paired with the Pixar short film - LIFTED. This is a hilarious film that students adore and I have used this booklet as part of both film studies, creative writing, activator/tune in activities and outer space themed units. It has a range of activities including cloze passage, ordering scenes from the film, pictures, definitions, problem solving and other literacy sentence building activities. I hope you enjoy it as much as my students. This resource is 7 pages long.

This bundle consists of the entire picture book in PowerPoint form which is great for interactive whiteboards for students to interact with the book. The worksheet is a fantastic accompaniment to the Wombat stew picture book. it is a few different vocabulary activities including a simple cloze passage. This would be suitable for younger years or students with disabilities needing simplified work. There are plenty of pictures to help with identifying the words. This worked really well with the unit of work on this book.

This was done as an assessable task. Please don’t think that this is just a Q+A type workbook.
